Spicy Puffed Rice Mixture / Kaara Pori

Kaara Pori

A simple recipe to jazz up the plain puffed rice.

Ingredients:

  • Puffed rice / pori – 5 cups
  • Ghee – 2 tbsps
  • Red chilli – 4
  • Curry leaves – 2 strands
  • Channa dal – 1 tsp
  • Peanuts – 1 tbsp +1/2 tbsp
  • Hing / Asafoetida – 1/8 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/8 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  • Heat ghee in a pan.
  • When it is warm, add channa dal, peanuts, chilli, curry leaves, hing and turmeric powder.
  • When the channa dal turnes golden, turn off the heat and add salt to taste.
  • Add puffed rice and mix.
